Soccer Camp #2

Drake and Carson are taking their second Soccer Camp. They are so cute out there. It is an hour a day for 5 days so it is a little long for 3 year olds but I think Camden is ready to play too!

2 Wheel Bike - NO training Wheels...watch out!

I really wanted to teach Carson to ride a bike without training wheels before John came home from China. So...on Saturday (the day before John came home) I bought Carson a new bike, pads, pads and more pads. I am still sore from running up and down the street. Thankfully, my neighbors pitched in and ran a little with me while I took some pics. Needless to say Carson learned to ride a bike in 1 day! It was unbelievable...I thought it was going to be so much harder than it was. He is doing so awesome. He has trouble starting still and a little shakey stopping but everything in between is great!

Molson did not leave his side...

Tyler...tyler...tyler...

So, the surgeon came in this morning and told us it is NOT melanoma cancer. Which was really great news as melanoma cancer of the lung is pretty grim.

The mass was, however, malignant and is called a Lung Carcinoid Tumor. Dr. Collins said he 'got it all'. He said NO chemo or radiation! He said he removed the bottom quarter of his lung and it was a really good decision to have the surgery. Tyler will need to be tested, scanned and probed every 3 months and then eventually every 6 months. Tyler will not be leaving the hospital tomorrow as planned. He has some air in his lung that they need to get rid of before they can remove the chest tube. He will most likely be in the hospital through the weekend but I will let you know.
Here is the best link I have found so far for those of you wanting more specific medical information.

More news on Tyler...

They moved Tyler out of the ICU today.
This morning he was in much better spirits but his eyes were still a bother so I asked for an opthamology consult. Jill said the opthamologist came this afternoon and felt like his blurry/double vision was from the anesthesia and surgery.
(Big relief as Tyler was thinking there was something wrong with his brain)
Jill said he has a low grade fever that they are watching closely but hopefully will be resolved with more breathing treatments and coughing.
He will know tomorrow if the the 'nodes' were malignant.

Update on Scoober...

(this is the only picture I have have Tyler and he is pretending to be gay)

Anyway, here is the news on his recent surgery...
He had lung surgery today up in SLC because of the recent cancer findings.
He is currently in ICU and Jill said the surgeon said he did really well.
When they got inside they found another node that they removed.
So, in all they removed 2 nodes and actually ended up leaving the cyst on his trachea (since he didn't feel like it was a concern).
In other words, he made a really good decision to have him 'cut rather than scope'.
He will be in ICU for a day and then in recovery and the hospital until probably friday.
They are sending the nodes to the lab and will have results in 2 days.
For those of you wanting more information here is a link to the surgical procedure...

Thanks for thinking of him...

Carson...

Carson's favorite word lately is 'holy shitballs'.
At least he has the holy part.

Every day he says 'my daddy has been gone ALL day'. I say yes and he won't be back for awhile. Carson says 'well, I am going to go on the plane to China and see him, but don't worry I will stay away from people and I won't miss you!'
Ugh heartbreaker.

We had initially told him that when we came back from Europe we were going to take him to Maui. So now on top of China he asks 'when daddy gets back are we going to go see the maui trees?'

He LOVES 'his kids'...
Which generally means his neighbor playmates or his cousins. Seriously, he is so funny.
